Mr. Christian graduated from Lampasas High School in 1985. He went to college at Abilene Christian University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 1989. Mr. Christian then received a Graduate Assistantship at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he received his Master of Arts degree in 1991 in Conducting and Clarinet Performance.
He began his teaching career in the Birdville Independent School District as an Associate Director of Bands at Richland High School.
After spending eight years at Richland, he was selected to open Stony Point High School, the fourth High School in Round Rock ISD.
Mr. Christian spent four years at Stony Point before coming to LISD to open up Vista Ridge.
Mr. Christian is married to his college sweetheart, Cheryl, who was an oboist at ACU. They have two beautiful girls, Caroline and Cassie who are hoping to one day be in the Vista Ridge Ranger Band.
He is also the part-time Worship Minister for the Round Rock Church of Christ, where he plans and leads worship, and directs a Praise Team. He enjoys playing golf, traditional archery, and hunting whitetail deer and Rio Grande Turkey. Mr. Christian is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, Mu Phi Epsilon, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
